BEING very concerned about the town’s cleanliness, councillor Magda Viktor shared a photo of the recycling bins in the parking area at the Community Services department.
In 2004, AbaQulusi (Vryheid) was mentioned for most promising clean town in the Cleanest City in KwaZulu-Natal awards. That was the last time the town was mentioned in this competition where towns are commended for maintaining a clean environment.
Cllr Viktor said that although the bins were not ideally situated, it is a great start.

She has also started setting up meetings with the director of Community Services and hopes to see more of these recycling bins in town.
With that, Cllr Viktor hopes to return Vryheid to the clean town it once was.
